More live recordings around the camp fire of Fiddler’s Grove, Lebanon, Tennessee

Obviously the Gaither organisation thought it a good idea to do two live recordings, but I don’t think this one works quite a well as the HOMECOMING PICNIC. It is certainly not as country orientated as the former, but if you like good gospel songs sung by people who really enjoy what they are singing you won’t go far wrong with either the CD or DVD. If I was to recommend one I would go for the DVD as it has some fun bonus features. Musically both recordings are fine, and for country fans the pick would be The Isaacs with I Have Found A Way and the old blues song Denomination Blues which is well sung and accompanied by Buddy Greene on his harmonica and Jeff Taylor on his accordion. Other tracks I particularly enjoyed were Hold Me While I Cry by Karen Peck And New River, and The Gaither Vocal Band who are again in great voice on Yes I Know. Perhaps being around the campfire makes everything so relaxed and easy going and makes for a very enjoyable listen and with 19 tracks on both the DVD and CD, they represent very good value for money.
