Kelvin Henderson, a true and country music scene, passed country music scene, passed
Kaway on Friday April 2. He was Kaway on Friday April 2. He was 62.Forseveral years he suffered with a disease called progressive supranuclear palsy (psp) which gradually took away his speech and mobility although it left his mind as sharp as a razor. This was the same disease that actor and entertainer Dudley Moore died of.
I use the word ‘legend’ in its truest sense and meaning. For more than 35 years Kelvin was at the forefront of country music in the UK as a first- class performer, radio presenter, promoter, agent and mentor. I first came across Kelvin in the late 1960s and worked with him on gigs off-and-on until he was struck down with his illness some seven or eight years ago.
