Gibraltar Music Festival 2016 #GMF16

Folkestone sibling trio ORFILA returned to Gibraltar last week to play at the Gibraltar Music Festival (one of the biggest music events in Southern Europe).
The band, consisting of Matt, Louise and Abi Orfila first played at annual festival in 2014 to open the festival for the headline act The Script. This year organisers asked the group to open the Main Stage again and kick off the festival for headliners Stereophonics. Other acts on the bill this year included Travis, The Vamps, All Saints, Europe, KT Tunstall, Paul Young, Jess Glynne, Zara Larson, The Fratellis, Heather Small and Bryan Ferry.
During the week leading up to the event the band gave interviews to TV and Radio stations across Gibraltar including The Gibraltar Broadcasting Company (GBC) the Rock’s equivalent of the BBC and also to Gibraltar’s National Newspapers and Magazines.

Matt said, “It was a great experience the first time we played there but this time it was even better. We are so grateful to the organisers for asking us back and for the people of Gibraltar for being so supportive. The highlight for us was playing on the main stage of course but also to meet such great artists. Meeting the Stereophonics was definitely great; they are really nice people”.
This year has been very busy for the band having played at the O2 London in March as part of the International  Country Music Festival ‘Country 2 Country’; being chosen as supported artists by Yamaha Music London and, releasing a new album which included a single that reached the top ten in the ITunes UK Country Music Charts.
The band flies out to the USA in October for a 5 date tour of Texas.
